Spectacular views and thrills at the Stratosphere Tower
Published onJune 24, 2024 at4:00 pm
Erected in the 1990s, the Stratosphere Tower is one of the most spectacular buildings in Las Vegas. Located on the north side of the Strip, the famous Las Vegas avenue, it is impossible not to see it dominating the city. More than just innovative architecture, the Stratosphere Tower offers tourists an unforgettable experience. An incredible view of Sin City, thrill rides and adrenalin are all on offer when you decide to embark on its vertiginous ascent. Not forgetting the signature feature of the mega-hotels in Vegas: their sheer size. Two outdoor swimming pools, 7,500 m2 of casinos and theatres hosting Banachek's Mind Games and the L.A. Comedy Club, comedians on tour throughout the country.
But beyond this 'classic' offering, we're going to take a moment to look at what makes this unique tower so special, so we can tell you all about it!

Stratosphere Tower: the tallest tower in Vegas
At 350 metres, the Stratosphere Tower is the tallest building in Las Vegas and the whole of Nevada. It can be seen in the distance, like a lighthouse in the desert, guiding us towards the city of all sins.

Like many of the buildings here, the Stratosphere Tower is a hotel-casino. Construction began in 1996. Despite its gigantic size, the Stratosphere Tower was not as successful as expected from the moment it opened. The reason for this was its off-centre location. But today, thanks to its unique offering, it has gained in popularity and is attracting a great deal of interest from tourists. So much so that we appreciate its location, halfway between the Strip and Fremont Street.
A magnificent view of the whole of Las Vegas
The tower has two viewpoints at around 280 metres above ground level, one inside and one outside. The one on the inside is unusual in that it has sloping glass walls, which can make you a little dizzy when looking down.

Editorial advice
Choose the right time of day to climb the Stratosphere Tower. The view changes dramatically depending on the light. The most magical moment is certainly when the sun sets and the lights begin to illuminate the city.
Surprise: an unsuspected theme park at its summit!
As well as its impressive size, which turns heads, the Stratosphere Tower hides a secret at the top that should delight thrill-seekers. If you're not too engrossed in the view, you'll find that an amusem*nt park sits atop the Stratosphere Tower. Once you've indulged in a little scenic contemplation, it's time for some action!

Sky jump
This is a sky jump from the top of the Stratosphere Tower. The famous tower is 350 metres high, and you'll be jumping from the 108th floor, 252 metres above the Las Vegas Strip, which gives you an idea of the adrenalin rush.
Big Shot
Big Shot is a drop tower attraction that will propel you from the top of its riveted platform 281 m up the tower, over a distance of 50 metres, at 72 km/h. Because of its power, the gravitational force reaches 4 G. And then it's back down again without delay. But don't worry, you're strapped in.

X-Scream
This is a shuttle that is catapulted with its passengers into the void outside the tower, over a distance of 8 metres, at a height of 260 metres. A unique attraction. The only thing missing is an astronaut's suit for total immersion. To spice up the already extreme sensation, the shuttle suspended above the void pivots and tilts towards the ground, which is far, far away, several times.

Insanity, the Ride
Insanity, the Ride is another attraction that sends its passengers into the void. Its suspended carousel rotates outside the tower to reveal Las Vegas from a new and exciting angle. It's best not to be afraid of heights.
